Initially, we crafted our shelves in response to a request from Stacey for 'chunky' and 'rustic' shelves for her utility room at Pickle Cottage. These shelves proved to be so popular that we now offer them in much longer lengths of up to 2 meters!
 
Our shelves are made using solid wood and are 40mm thick and 220mm deep. Each shelf has natural markings such as knots and cracks, which add to their rustic appeal. They are available in two finishes: a natural oak-colored beeswax or a child-friendly whitewash oil. While our shelves are not made from oak, they are made using solid wood and designed to achieve a similar rustic look. Additionally, customers can choose between shelves with rustic edges or square edges.
 
For easy installation, concealed, hardened steel fixing rods are included with each shelf, along with 10mm solid wall plugs. However, please note that these fixings are only suitable for solid walls, and we do not supply wall plugs for plasterboard. You may source your own brackets for plasterboard installation. Instructions are also included for your convenience.
 
Unfortunately we cannot engrave anything longer than 110cm on these shelves. If you need a shelf in an exact length to fit into a specific space, please round up to the nearest 10 and leave your length measurement in the notes box at checkout. Also, if you prefer a narrower shelf to fit a specific space, we can accommodate this down to a minimum width of 100mm. Just let us know in the notes box at checkout. Each shelf can hold a weight of up to 25kg, provided it is properly fixed to a masonry wall.
 
Please keep in mind that our shelves are made from natural materials and may feature natural markings and cracks. We believe these imperfections add to their charm, and the color, tone, and grain of the wood may vary slightly from the pictures shown as no two shelves are identical. 
If you are looking to have two shelves together, please purchase these at the same time as the wood grain cannot be matched when purchasing at separate times. We choose pieces that are of similar tone and grain and we cannot do this when purchasing separately.
