These shelves were originally made following an order from Stacey for 'chunky', 'rustic' shelves for her utility room at Pickle Cottage.  We are now bringing you a version with a handy hanging rail beneath. We make the rail ourselves so it is a unique shape, trying to steer clear of the standard broomstick handle as a rail that you might see elsewhere.
 
Each shelf can be engraved along the front facing edge with a house name, family name, favourite quote, nursery rhyme or whatever you'd like.
 
We like to use CAPITALS on our shelves as we feel this makes it clear to read from a distance. However this isn't everyone's preference. Please enter your engraving in the exact way you would like it to appear (Case sensitive). Once an order is submitted, this cannot be changed.
 
There is an option to have the shelves with Rustic edges or square edges.
 
Our shelves are 40mm thick and 220mm deep. Each shelf has knots, cracks and natural markings adding to its rustic characteristics. Our shelves are finished with a natural oak coloured beeswax or a child friendly whitewash oil. These shelves are made using solid wood, to achieve that rustic look, however they are not made from Oak.
 
 
Two concealed, hardened steel fixing rods are included with your shelf. (Please note - these fixings are only suitable for solid walls.) 10mm Solid wall plugs are supplied too. (Please note - we do not supply wall plugs for plaster board). Instructions are included for your guidance.
 
If you require our shelves in a longer length than 110cm, please note we cannot engrave anything longer than 110cm but we can make them without engraving. Please see the separate listing.
 
If you require our shelves in an exact length to fit in a desired space. Please round UP to the nearest 10 and leave your length measurement in the notes box at checkout. If you would prefer your shelf narrower to fit a specific place for example, we can do this to a minimum of 100mm. Again, please let us know in the notes box at checkout.
 
Each shelf can hold a weight of up to 25kg - PROVIDED A SUITABLE FIXING TO A MASONRY WALL.
 
Please note our shelves contain lots of natural markings and natural cracks in the wood. We find this a natural part of working with wood and adds to the look. The colour, tone and grain of the wood may also vary from the pictures as no two are the same. If you are looking to have two shelves together, please purchase these at the same time as the wood grain cannot be matched when purchasing at separate times. We choose pieces that are of similar tone and grain and we cannot do this when purchasing separately.
